Introduction

Hello. I am Kim Hodu, a mid-30s parent raising my son who was born in 2017. My spouse and I had a childhood lacking companionship, and we both agreed that a child should grow up with their parents by their side. I quit my job and have been a full-time stay-at-home dad for the past 5 years, spending time with my child.

Reason for Filming Videos

In the days when there were no shorts, I only took photos. There were no photos of dad or mom.

While raising my newborn, I happened to open a photo album and realized that there were only pictures of my child. This led me to think, "Let's capture memories by filming videos of our family together." Fortunately, many people have shown love for our daily life with our child as I upload videos on TikTok.

It's great. A stay-at-home dad who plays and eats at home.

Sometimes I see comments that say, "Is this the famous Shutterman? A man who closes his wife's store and enjoys himself while she works. I'm jealous." I can't deny those words. I am not good at household chores. There is always something to do at home, and my attention to detail falls behind my wife's for years. My wife is better at internet searches, and she is also better at organizing the house. That's why I cook and spend more time "playing" with the kids than others.

Until when will you continue to be a full-time housewife?

Our child is currently 7 years old and is about to enter elementary school. If our child can earn enough money to live as a creator before entering school, we will continue their activities as a creator. However, if that is not possible, we plan to find employment. Of course, our child is already studying in various ways.

As a creator.

Since I often shoot videos with my dad and child, I need to find somewhere to place the camera. Additionally, since my child is a preschooler, we can't discuss the planning of the video. That's why scenes of us spending a long time in one place, like the dining table and living room, are uploaded.

On the other hand, when we go on trips or have special events, I always keep my phone or camera on and record whenever my child speaks. This usually results in about 2 hours of footage per day, which I then condense into 60-second short videos. Sometimes, the file size exceeds 20GB, and editing takes about 2 hours.

The reason I put so much effort into editing and shooting for such a long time is because you all enjoy it, and editing is so enjoyable and fun for me.

Does the child like their own video?
